Online Informatics and Media – (B.Sc.)

The Online Informatics and Media degree programme (Degree: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science) includes a total of six semesters as a standard period of study. A practical study phase is planned for the 5th semester and the 6th semester is concluded with a final thesis paper. The study course has a modular structure and is evaluated according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The curriculum offers a thorough grounding in informatics as provided by traditional degree programmes at Universities of Applied Sciences in Germany. The course content is in accordance with the guidelines of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (German Computer Society).

The Informatics and Media degree programme has an interdisciplinary approach, combining subjects like Informatics, Telecommunications, Media Design, Media Technology and Business Administration. In this distance learning study course, you study online and have access to your chosen modules. You receive online support from trained tutors. Communication by email and chat as well as group work take place using the learning platform which is made available to all students. Any announcements and important dates are posted here for everyone to see. As a blended learning course, some parts of the degree programme (about 20%) take place in face-2-face sessions at the university where you have registered. These f2f meetings are always scheduled for weekends. You can profit from the synergy of a virtual university network by taking courses offered at any location network-wide and by initiating special interest communities. Should your circumstances change, you also have the flexibility to change your “home” university to another within the network.
