Inholland University of Applied Sciences is an ambitious institution of higher education in the western part of the Netherlands. Its vibrant learning and working community and particularly its scale is ideal for students who are keen to develop their theoretical knowledge as well as their practical skills. Offering competence-based learning, Inholland University of Applied Sciences is professionally involved both with the student, the market and society as a whole.
Quality
In order to develop the quality of all higher education programmes offered by Inholland it has many strategic cooperation agreements with educational institutions both within the Netherlands and with more than 60 universities and higher education institutions abroad. The campus sites all have excellent ICT facilities and state-of-the-art purpose built accommodation. A large number of lectors conduct applied research in a range of fields.
Internationalisation
An increasing number of Inholland graduates are now working for international organisations. The best way to prepare students for their future careers in such an international environment is to familiarise them with it during their degree programme. Every year some 450 Inholland students go on an exchange to one of the 60 universities we have cooperation agreements with. Another 450 foreign students are warmly welcomed on their exchange at Inholland.
But internationalisation at Inholland is much more than that. Where possible, an international dimension is added to the content of the degree programmes offered by Inholland. Working together with institutions and organisations in more than 35 countries is a crucial element of this internationalisation process.
The number of students with foreign secondary education qualifications enrolling at Inholland ranges from 2% to 18% depending on the subject of the degree programme.

Inholland Alkmaar has a limited capacity of student housing for incoming exchange students who are studying at Hogeschool Inholland Alkmaar. The accommodation is located in the center of Alkmaar. Student Associations
The most important student association in Alkmaar is Omnivas. Omnivas has more than 850 members and organises the introduction of new students every year and many other activities as well. The membership fee is EUR 20.00. Please stop by to register. The office is in the basement of the B building, next to the studentsoos.

As a student of the School of Technology at Inholland Alkmaar you can take part in the activities organised by student association InMotion. These activities include lectures, workshops and excursions to companies but having a good time is important too, of course! Please visit www.svinmotion.nl
Student Life
Alkmaar is the largest town in the area offering the best nightlife. Apart from many bars and restaurants there are also two theaters, two cinemas, a concert hall for pop music, museums and a number of nightclubs.
In the basement of Inholland Alkmaar there is the student bar 'de SooS'. It is open from Mondays to Fridays to have a drink with your fellow students and other friends at student prices. The SooS is run by students and voluntary bar staff. If you would like to work behind the bar for a couple of hours, then please let us know. The SooS is open to all students of Inholland Alkmaar.
